It’s fair to come into something like SYNOD24 feeling a little cynical about what it could, should, would achieve so it’s not surprising that despite coming with open hearts, some Synod Members were also cautious about what to expect. Some were concerned at first that there might be pressure applied to simply “endorse” actions and push them through without really giving time and space to hear concerns, questions and differences of opinion. What unfolded however was a powerful process of deep listening, where Synod Members felt authentically heard and free to raise concerns.
